You can see how much battery your phone has left. When it's charging, you can see how long until your battery will be fully charged.
Important: Some of these steps only work on Android 14 and up. Learn how to update your Android version.
It's normal for your Pixel battery to drain a little more than usual after a software update. This is because the phone is working hard to download and optimize the new software and get everything up and running.
If you still experience unusual battery drain after a few days, please let us know and we'll be happy to help.
Show battery percentage in status bar
- Open your phone’s Settings app.
- Tap Battery.
- Turn on Battery percentage.
Check battery life & use
- Open your phone's Settings app.
- Under Battery, see how much charge you have left, and about how long it will last.
- For details, tap Battery.
- For more details on your battery usage, tap Battery usage.
- The chart displays the battery level since the last full charge.
- To view battery usage by app, tap View by apps.
- To review or change how a listed app uses battery, tap the name of the app.
- For all apps, we recommend you keep battery optimization on.
- For some apps, you can restrict background battery usage.
- To view your battery usage by system function, tap View by systems.
- For more details on your battery usage, tap Battery usage.
Get a summary of battery usage
Important: This feature requires the latest version of AI Core and is available on Pixel 10 and later devices.
At the top of the Battery usage page, you can get a personalized summary of your battery usage. It summarizes these analyses, which are performed in the background:
- Identifies apps that consume the most battery.
- Monitors app background activity.
- Compares the overall and app-specific battery consumption between your selected period and recent average.
Tip: Summary outputs vary and highlight the most important info only.
To get your summary:
- Open your phone's Settings app.
- Tap Battery and charging

- Plug in your phone. Give it a moment to see how fast it’s charging.
- Open your phone's Settings app.
- Under "Battery," see how much charge you have left, and about how long until a full charge.

Add the battery widget to your Home screen
You can use the battery widget to check the battery info for your Pixel phone and nearby connected devices.
Important: The battery widget is available on Android 12 and later and works with devices that report battery info using Bluetooth or Google Fast Pair Service. Learn how to check your Android version.
To add the battery widget:
- On a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
- Tap Widgets.
- Tap Battery.
- Touch and hold the battery widget.
- Slide the widget to where you want it. Lift your finger.
- To resize the widget, drag the dots.
- When you're finished, tap outside the widget.
