Use & manage Connected Apps in Gemini

Gemini Apps can connect to other apps to complete your request and give you more helpful responses. With your permission, Gemini can also help you take actions, like editing and managing your content in other apps.

Here are a few examples of what you can ask Gemini to help you with:

  • Boost productivity: Summarize emails from Gmail, create events in Google Calendar or third-party apps, or search for content across a variety of productivity apps.
  • Find & play media: Play music from your favorite streaming services, like YouTube Music or Spotify, or search your photos and videos from supported gallery apps.
  • Streamline everyday tasks: Explore available mobile apps, shop for groceries for newly found recipes, book reservations for discovered experiences, and more.
  • Connect with people: Make calls and send messages with your default apps or WhatsApp on Android devices.
  • Control your devices: Manage your smart home devices in Google Home or use the Device assistance app on Android devices to set alarms, change device settings, and more.

Get started with Connected Apps in Gemini

Important: For now, Gemini can’t use Connected Apps in Gemini in Google Messages.

  1. Sign in to the Gemini app. You must be signed in to use Connected Apps. Learn how to sign in to Gemini Apps.
  2. Check your Keep Activity setting.
    • When Keep Activity is off, Connected Apps won’t be available on gemini.google.com, iOS devices, or smart watches. On Android devices, only the Device assistance, Phone, Messages, and WhatsApp apps will be available if the setting is off.

How to use Connected Apps in Gemini

Important: Some Connected Apps are designed to automatically work with Gemini. You can disconnect apps in your Connected Apps settings anytime. Learn how to disconnect apps in Gemini.

  1. On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.
  2. In the text box at the bottom, enter your question or prompt.
    • To specify an app for Gemini to use, enter @ and select the app. If the app you select isn't connected, it’ll either be connected or Gemini will ask for your permission to connect it.
  3. Click Submit . If an app is available, Gemini automatically uses it.
  4. Follow any on-screen instructions.

  1. On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.
  2. At the bottom, click Settings and then Connected Apps .
    • The Connected Apps page lists apps that are available to you, your Google Account type, and the Gemini app you’re currently in.
  3. To check a connected app’s available details, below its name and description, click Learn more.
    • On the app’s details page, you can find a connected app’s full description, supported and unsupported actions, and example prompts.
About apps in Connected Apps settings

The apps in Connected Apps settings vary by Gemini app, device, country, and more. For example, apps that are only available in the Gemini mobile app on Android won’t show in Connected Apps settings on iOS devices or in the Gemini web app at gemini.google.com.

  3. Find the app you want to connect or disconnect.
    • To connect an app, turn it on .
    • To disconnect an app, turn it off .

About Google services that Gemini automatically uses info from

Gemini automatically uses public information from certain Google services, including:

Gemini won’t access your personal information or content in these services without your permission.

To use public information from Google Flights, Google Hotels, Google Maps, and YouTube, Keep Activity must be on. Gemini can always use public information from Google Search, even if Keep Activity is off or you’re signed out.

Connect custom apps for Gemini Spark
