Despite me getting banned — for what I perceive as unjustified without prior warnings —I would say this is still an amazing app to get your foot in the door. The ability to like and attach a comment to express your personality is really unique. I feel like the addition of the voice feature gives each user even more potential to express their individuality. In the world of dating apps, this is definitely the best one for people looking to make real moves. There are amazing things to be said about this app, but it comes with great difficulty to talk about because of the way they implement their bans. I was banned, as a paid member. I was not a user to leave explicit, sexual comments or even post nudity on my profile. If anything, I rarely spoke to anyone and just lived in my own world because there was not a lot of interest for someone like me. However, I stayed positive because I knew Hinge gave its users the tools to build a strong profile. Unfortunately, suddenly and out of nowhere, I was just banned! I went through the appeals process but, shortly thereafter, I received an automated message lacking nuance to my case saying the decision was final. That’s the end of the story.Although it pains me to write this review, I would still recommend this dating app. I believe its capabilities give the common person the opportunity to shine. I wish I could tell you what to avoid, but I still don’t know to this day, just be careful!

I've tried ALL the apps... I moved to a new area just as the Covid lockdowns started... I'm also a transman- so dating is very complicated and difficult. Hinge allowed me to put all my information about myself, what I'm looking for in someone and also show parts of my personality on a platform where I could connect with other open-minded and/or queer people. It's not a small platform so there were lots and lots of people to interact with. Like anything it takes time, but in the end I connected with the most intelligent, silly, and amazing woman who turned out to be the person I've been looking for my whole life (I'm 31 now). We started out two hours apart, and ended up moving in together in a completely different state. We have our struggles like any couple, but without a doubt she is "my person" and I am hers. I've never loved anyone as much as I love her and I already know the span of my life isn't going to be enough time with her. -- so, out of all the apps, this is the only one I've ever had good results with-- even before her, and especially within the LGBT+ community. AND ITS FREE. You're gunna run into weirdos and duds and ones you like but don't work out... but you will be given chances to get to know people on this app- unlike all the others where I almost never received communication (by initiation nor response)... hinge is the only app I'd recommend. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP YOULL FIND YOUR PERSON TOO 💜 There really is someone for everyone.

After being on/off dating apps for the last 7 years (primarily for the ego boost when I was feeling lonely) I had never met anyone from an app. I have had several relationships over the years and always wanted to meet someone “authentically”. First of all, I have to give props to Hinge because of all of the apps, I felt that everyone here was more interested in building a relationship rather than a hook up. It was so easy to strike up a conversation based off of the prompts or photos you can respond to. A+!! Anyway, I had hinge for a few months and deleted it because I again, didn’t plan to meet anyone. Downloaded it again in April and really started to get along with someone. After convincing myself to give in and see how thing online dating works actually works, I had an amazing time on my date! Fast forward 2 months and I’m now in a relationship with this guy I met online. As weird as it may feel, just do it. Once you’re in person with this individual you connected with online, it’s no longer an online concept but truly building an authentic relationship. The memories and experiences you make with this person are yours, just because you may not have run into them in person doesn’t discredit the experiences. I truly am so happy and have never been treated as great as I have been by this guy. It can work! I’m giving this app a one star due to my experience from using it. I have been using hinge for over a year but then I decided to subscribe for Hinge X since I only went to a couple of dates from a couple of guys that I matched within an entire year and I wasn’t getting match with hardly any guy. When I subscribed to Hinge X, I realized that it wasn’t any different at all . I wasn’t getting any likes from no guys and I was getting even less matches than before. I ran out of matches even when being open with all matching options. I put in my filter that I am looking for a long term relationship and life partner since that’s what I wanted and I hardly was getting any matches and not even one like from a guy. I know a lot of people that have found their person in this dating app, but I feel that I got ripped off and also is not for me. I do really think that OkCupid and Bumble may be a better dating app for many people that are looking for love than this so called dating app.Update: 4/8/24 I just got banned from Hinge for no particular reason. Unless someone that works for Hinge read this exactly review that I posted on Saturday 4/6/24. Overall, me as well as everyone else has the right the right to post about their opinion and experience about any app that they have downloaded including dating apps. No one should stay quiet when they don’t agree with their opinion about an app or about anything.
