Path of Kings is 45 per cent auto battler, 45 per cent RPG and 10 per cent hamster. The vertical screen, first-person camera view immerses you in all the fun of the fantasy-fuelled action, as you battle through increasingly tough levels.
What we love: Your hero’s auto-attacking means you can concentrate on maximising your stats with different gear and loot drops – including options for a cute furry animal helper. If a foe finishes you, Path of Kings restarts instantly at the opening of the level, but the retro-style art is so chunky and cool that you wouldn’t mind if it took all day.

Quick tip: To best any opponent, pick up the damage-over-time buffs, such as life drain or bleed effect. They seem small compared to a big boost in armour, say, but they chip away at enemy health and give you the edge in a fight every time.
