Best at the core

Zoom does its core job best of all alternatives. It has the mist robust video, given network conditions. However, it fails to delight. The UI is meh. Starting a conversation with someone is clunky and cumbersome. There are inconsistencies between apps on different platforms. If anyone can rival Zoom’s robust high quality video, I think they could easily disrupt its dominance with better peripheral features.
Good but yet to be great

Great connection stability and quality, but really lacks in the UI department: - no option to control the order of participants shown, so that if there are a panel of lecturers, orMore than one meeting organizer, they get lost within the many squares. - no option to add a title for the conference. Sometimes it’s a day long conference and the lectures change and you want to know what you are watching. - I wish there was an option to create a common environment, even graphically, for the video meeting, so that everybody can feel a little bit more together, in one common place. I think other apps have this feature - I.e a lecture hall with chairs or a living room etc...- why stick to a square grid? Why not an option for a circle, for example? - I wish there was an option of double clicking a square and seeing info about the person (info which they shared, of course, some kind of personal ID).
Zoom for IPad <> Zoom for desktop

I use zoom for work daily. I present on zoom in conference calls often. I have managed to shift my work to my iPad Pro with an additional monitor attached. Zoom does not know how to handle this setup. Especially sharing with the extra monitor. Also, it does not support many of the sharing options you have on the desktop. I would expect zoom to catch up to the new powerful iPads released and upgrade their software to include desktop level screen sharing options.
